Data centers use a variety of strategies to address increasingly dense cooling loads. Epsilon has a successful history of designing and building traditional central utility plants for this purpose. However, the team is also actively engaged in facilitating a more distributed approach that utilizes smaller CDUs (Coolant Distribution Units). This gives the end client flexibility in placing CDUs exactly where they are needed, and allows for scalability and future growth and expansion.
One current project in the design/fabrication stage includes dozens of these CDU packages bound for a data center client in the Southeastern US. The CDUs are being manufactured concurrently in two of Epsilon’s fabrication and assembly facilities, and will be delivered in a staged approach over a four-month period. Stay tuned for more on this exciting project!
