Epsilon is committed to providing our customers, partners and stakeholders with as much accurate information as possible regarding the state of our business and the associated business environments. With that in mind, please see the following points. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your primary Epsilon representative.

Cross-border trade

  • Travel restrictions between the US and Canada apply to “non-essential traffic” of people – but this does not include a restriction in cross-border commercial trade (freight and goods). So while this restriction may affect planned customer visits to the Epsilon production facility (for instance, to inspect fabrication progress), it does not affect our ability to ship completed projects to job sites in the US. Additionally, note that Epsilon’s field operations team is US based, and we have project management and engineering resources in both countries.
  • Furthermore, based on the heavy reliance on cross-border trade (over $300B per year in each direction), the experts we’ve consulted do not foresee that restrictions will extend to commercial trade. The impact of such a move would be incredibly impactful to both the US and Canada. Keeping trade moving is a top priority for both the US and Canada.

Status of Epsilon’s production facility

  • Epsilon’s production facility is open. Any Ontario shut-down of non-essential services does not affect Epsilon. This exemption is based on Epsilon’s provision of infrastructure-related products and services to other essential industries.
  • We have implemented a comprehensive risk-management plan for our people. Office staff are working from home and rotating in and out of the office to maintain appropriate distancing. Production staff are reporting to work, 7 days per week and over 2 shifts. We are working diligently to help ensure the production facility is clean and hygiene procedures are followed. This includes imposing a 6-foot separation between workers, emphasizing electronic communications at all times, and distributing manpower over multiple shifts to help reduce workforce density. Furthermore, these plans are tiered to accommodate increased measures, if they were to be required.
  • We continue to receive notices of how the disruption to global supply chains is affecting our suppliers. And the risk-management plans referenced above cannot be implemented without some effect on production efficiency. We are closely monitoring how this dynamic may affect production and shipping schedules; any forecasted changes will be communicated proactively. Ultimately, Epsilon’s focus is on limiting the impact that these changes and disruptions may have on our customers and partners.
