This is the third in a series of articles that provides insight into the Epsilon approach and why we do what we do: the design, fabrication, assembly and installation of Off-Site Constructed (OSC) central utility systems. With more than 20 years of proven experience designing and manufacturing complex mechanical systems, we’ve developed a core approach that we believe delivers the best results for the owner along with the entire project team.
In this edition we address how and why we effectively provide turnkey installation services for our off-site constructed central utility plant modules. Future topics will address the Epsilon culture and employee retention. Be sure to subscribe to our newsletter to have our topics delivered to your inbox.
Epsilon Provides Turnkey Installation, Managing The Process for Clients
Many Off-Site Construction (OSC) providers have developed the expertise to manufacture prefabricated, modular systems in a factory, yet very few have the skill sets and resources to help customers bridge the gap between the factory and the field. Epsilon recognizes that this gap often represents the single largest source of risk for any OSC project – and developed a process and team to address it.
With Epsilon, clients can elect to source a turnkey installation – where Epsilon takes full contractual responsibility for design, fabrication/assembly, shipping, installation, start-up and commissioning of the complex mechanical/electrical systems we build.
In scenarios where the modular systems represent a majority of the project scope, Epsilon will contract directly with the owner as the prime installing contractor. On projects where the modular systems are a smaller portion of a larger project, Epsilon will contract with the prime General Contractor or Construction Manager, acting as a “Super Sub” that orchestrates the activities of multiple specialty contractors and trades (rigging, mechanical, electrical, etc.) under one single contract to provide the turnkey OSC offering.
Epsilon’s installation team consists of internal construction managers and superintendents, along with qualified and vetted 3rd-party sub-contractors. Our team brings seasoned construction manager expertise to all our job sites – integrating seamlessly with the balance of the on-site team to manage the myriad of issues inherent to on-site construction.
This turnkey approach to OSC delivery has proven to significantly reduce the risks for any given project. With the installing trades working directly for Epsilon, we are able to streamline the entire installation process – helping to ensure we collectively meet critical project metrics such as schedule and performance.
Turnkey installation is a key element of the overall Epsilon approach to Off-Site Construction and is one of the ways we provide enhanced value to our clients and business partners.
